Theft, Brettin Drive

A resident called police at 3:08 a.m. Sept. 21 for a car theft in progress. The victim said he awoke at 3 a.m. to use the restroom and heard his Mercedes G63 start in his driveway. He looked out the window and saw someone back the car out of the drive, across his front yard, and drive east on Brettin Drive. Two other cars parked on the street followed the stolen car, the victim said. He said he was unsure if the car was locked at the time of the theft and was unable to give police any more information about the suspects.

Drunken driver, Rockside Road

Police in Independence and Seven Hills responded to calls of a possibly impaired driver at 10:53 p.m. Sept. 19. Independence police pulled the driver over. The drive appeared impaired and said she was coming from a party and had two beers earlier in the evening. The driver later registered .210 percent blood-alcohol level, nearly three times the legal limit for intoxication. She was arrested and later “given a person bond due to COVID-19,” reports said. Her car was towed from the scene and impounded.
