KALAMAZOO, MI – A woman who was hit by a car in the city of Kalamazoo early Saturday morning has died from her injuries

Connor Meert, 21, died after being hit by a car in a pedestrian crosswalk early Saturday morning.

Connor Meert, 21, was struck by a car around 2 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12, around the intersection of West Michigan Avenue and Emajean Street. She was brought to a hospital where she was initially listed as being in stable but critical condition, but later died.

According to witnesses, Meert was attempting to cross West Michigan Avenue when she was hit by a vehicle that had the right of way. Kalamazoo police responding at about 2:07 a.m. found the woman unresponsive in the road.

The crash is still under investigation and it’s not known if the driver will face any charges.
