Mayhem broke out last month after the sudden spike in Coronavirus cases in our country to control which the entire nation had to go under a lockdown starting March 24. Production started taking a hit almost a week before the lockdown when we started hearing about automakers scaling down operations and were completely stopped on the day of Janata Curfew on March 22. This took quite a toll on the production numbers for March 2020. While the overall industry witnessed a decline of 33.61 per cent at 14,47,345 units as compared to 21,80,203 units manufactured a year ago, production of passenger vehicles (PVs) slumped by 38.14
Avis Alexander was asleep in a back bedroom early Sunday morning when she heard what she described as “a very loud noise” by her wooden house along Northeast 28th Street.
Alexander woke up and went to the front window. Looking outside, she saw a shinny object, which turned out to be a car, on her front lawn.
“It scared me,” Alexander said Tuesday, working in her yard.
She called 911, and Ocala Police Department officers went to her home.
Officers on scene found a man on the side of her home. The man, later identified as 30-year-old Jeffery Robinson, was ejected from an older model Honda Accord.
Robinson, who officers said was not wearing his seat belt and a passenger in the vehicle, had hit Alexander’s home.
